About The Hut Youth Centre
Numurkah District Health Service opened its first Youth Clinic on the 20th April 2010. "The Hut" is a young person's service staffed by a General Practitioner, registered nurse and counselling services. The establishment of the service was strongly supported by local service and education providers, particularly Numurkah Secondary College and Melbourne University School of Rural Health and Centre for Sexual Health and Research.
Young people now have a more youth friendly and sepcific place to come and seek assistance around health and wellbeing needs. To ensure that the Hut's Operational team are up to date and providing relevant services there are regular meetings held with youth representatives from the Numurkah Secondary College to discuss the needs of Numurkah youth and to explore innovative ways to support our young people to lead fulfilling lives.
