Finance & Administration

The Finance & Administration Department of NDHS provide a range of patient, resident and client services including:

Private Patient Billing By electing to utilise their private health insurance, our patients enjoy:

  • A renovated facility and use of TV in all rooms
  • Treatment by doctors from the clinic of their choice
  • No paperwork hassles - we do all the paperwork for our patients and take care of any bills incurred
  • No out-of-pocket expenses / gap fees

Our patients continue to receive the highest possible standard of care. For NDHS this means the health funds contribute significantly to the cost of our private patients' care. NDHS Administration and Nursing staff can assist patients in using their private cover should they choose this option. The Simplified Billing Service is subject to audit on behalf of Medicare on September 30 each year.

Radiology Administration

NDHS has an x-ray service using Computerised Radiology (CR). Focus Radiology and Nuclear Medicine read and report the results of x-rays to the referring doctor. Reports for non-urgent x-rays are available the following day. The reports for inpatients and urgent outpatients are available very soon after the x-ray, in some cases within 10 - 15 minutes of a patient being x-rayed. Discs of images are available from Reception upon request, also within 10 minutes for patients who need to take them back to their local doctor or specialist appointment. Certain specialists require images on film. If this is required, contact Reception. These are usually ready for collection from NDHS or Focus Radiology within 48 hours. NDHS Administration staff can assist patients in utilising their Medicare Cover or DVA card where applicable. To make an appointment, phone Reception on (03)58620 555. In order to avoid traffic through the Acute Ward, clients are requested to attend the main Finance & Administration Office in the first instance for appointments.
