Healthy Weight Program
The Healthy Weight Program is a new and exciting program designed to assist people to make healthier lifestyle choices therefore preventing the developing of weight related chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers.
The program will consist of 4 x 2 hourly, weekly information sessions with a six month follow-up session. Topics to be included during the course include; risks associated with not being a healthy weight, FAD and Yo Yo diets, emotional eating, Australian Guide to Healthy Eating, portion sizes, dietary fat and fibre, recipe modification, food label reading (supermarket tour) and physical activity (including gym session).
The Healthy Weight Program will give you the tools to help make lasting lifestyle changes and achieve goals in:
- Decreasing total fat intake
- Decreasing saturated fat intake
- Increasing fruit and vegetables
- Increasing physical activity
