Our Key Strategic Directions and Vision, Mission & Values
The following key strategic directions are intended to support our vision and values, and to guide Numurkah District Health Service’s development over the course of its strategic plan.
Numurkah District Health Service will:
- Provide patient-focused, high quality integrated services through an improved focus on processes and procedures that have the interests of the individual patient as the main objective.
- Ensure fair and equitable access to high priority clinical services based on clinical need.
- Develop collaborative leadership in the region and create strong supported relationships.
- Develop a culture of teamwork and common ownership among a skilled and dedicated workforce.
- Create a learning environment throughout the organisation that supports patient care.
- Consolidate and reinvest in core services, ensuring a strong focus on maintaining services at levels the community expects.
- Develop innovative approaches to improve productivity and efficiency and meet emerging service delivery challenges.
Vision
To develop a centre of excellence in the delivery of health value services that reflects the changing needs of our rural community.
Mission
To deliver, through innovation and resource effectiveness, personalised health care services that focus on promoting health and wellbeing within our community.
Values
Respect
We recognise that the primary reason our organisation exists is to provide health and aged care services to our community. Consistent with this, our fundamental value is to respect the privacy, dignity and safety with which we are entrusted, and to openly communicate with those in our care and their significant others. We also expect that these values will be demonstrated by staff in the workplace.
Quality
We expect that the services we provide will meet the standards of practice defined by our industry peers, as representing acceptable service quality, and responsible clinical and corporate risk management.
Skill
We acknowledge the valuable resource that we have in our staff. To ensure consistent delivery of services, we hold as core values the development of relevant skills and the health and safety of our staff.
Innovation
We recognise that our industry is constantly evolving. To ensure that our evolution is appropriate, we encourage new ideas. We work hard to ensure our patients, clients, residents and their families are at the centre of our care. We welcome their feedback and have created an environment that supports and encourages staff to improve services whenever possible.
